In March 2023, Sociology and Women’s Studies major Asia Barlow was awarded the CLAS Student Excellence Award in recognition of their academic distinction and community service working on racial justice in Alachua County. Throughout their time at UF, Asia has grown into an outstanding scholar and researcher. In 2020, they won a competitive University Scholars Program award to work on a research project on sexual assault attrition with Dr. Maddy Coy and Dr. Alyssa Zucker.
