Sex, Disability and Queerness with ANDREW GURZA

October 11, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

COMING OUT AS YOUR #1 QUEER CRIPPLE

October 11th, Reitz Union Auditorium

5:30 p.m: DOORS OPEN & REFRESHMENTS
6 p.m.: ANDREW’S TALK
7:30 p.m: DISCUSSION PANEL

Come and have a chat with Disability Awareness Consultant and Cripple Content Creator Andrew Gurza as he welcomes you into his world of being “queer, crippled, and fabulous.” Andrew will share with you his personal journey coming out as a “queer cripple,” why that language is so particularly valuable to him and his work, and together he’ll help you to dismantle ableist notions that are so rampant in the LGBTQ2S community. By the end of this session, you will have the tools to make disability a vibrant part of the University of Florida.

The DRC utilizes Universal Design principles when creating our events, however, we are cognizant that barriers may still exist. If you are an individual with a disability and anticipate needing accommodations in order to participate, please contact Jessica Krauth, jkrauth@ufsa.ufl.edu, at least 72 hours prior to the event.
