Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies

The conference will feature three alumni of the UF Political Science PhD program. Drs. Lorna Bracewell (Flagler College), Mauro J. Caraccioli (Virginia Tech), and Manu Samnotra (University of South Florida) will be presenting work that cuts across disciplinary boundaries. Attendees will hear presentations geared towards feminism and maternalist politics, racial hierarchy and colonial politics, and Mahatma Gandhi and the politics of dignity. The conference will be followed by a professionalization panel that is geared towards navigating the academic job market as a UF PhD.
